One step closer to victory. That’s the story of season so far for Devin Steele, the young wheelman from Stuart, Va. who on Friday, May 3, logged a solid 2nd place effort the third race of the season at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.


Steele turned heads last season with his rookie-of-the-year effort in the ultra-competitive modified division at the tricky 4/10ths mile track. Steele has carried that momentum into the new season, following up two top-5s on opening night with one of the best races of his young career this past Friday.

Awards ceremony caps off stellar rookie season

Devin Steele’s impressive debut campaign in the #86 modified drew to a close in triumphant fashion at the Ace Speedway 2012 awards banquet. In addition to bringing home rookie of the year honors for the modified division, Steele also added the Triple Aces Series championship trophy and the modified division points runner-up trophy to his collection.


In his first year driving for legendary engine builder Danny Glad, the young wheelman from Stuart, Va., hoped to gain experience and track time in the full-size, high-horsepower modifieds. But Steele wasted no time in making his name known in the modified division against a slew of hotshots and grizzled veterans.

Steele slips and slides to a 4th place finish; Twin 25s on tap

For the first time in a month, a bright afternoon sun beamed down on the KPMoto.com Modifieds at Ace Speedway on Aug. 10. After a string of rainouts and a by-week, Devin Steele and the #86 modified crew were ready to get back to racing at Ace Speedway.
Despite the sun beating down on the Ace Speedway asphalt, all had not been sunshine for the DSR crew in the past week. A cracked cylinder head after a Wednesday practice session forced the team to tear down and rebuild the motor in the two days leading up to Friday. Even after some sleepless nights, spirits were high, as that practice session resulted in some blazingly fast lap times.
